Bereavement is referred to as the time of grief following the death of a loved one. Our Bereavement program consists of bereavement services available to assist and support family members and friends of our patients. All bereavement services are available at no cost to family members and friends of our patients.

Our bereavement team is trained and qualified to provide life changing support during bereavement for a minimum of thirteen months and longer if needing or desired. As part of our community outreach, we offer our bereavement services to the community as well. 

Grief is the normal and natural response to loss of any kind. It is also normal and natural to review a relationship that have ended because of death or changed as the result of illness. However, many of us do not have the support needed to be able to take actions which provide relief from the pain cause by the loss. Americare Hospice and Palliative Care provide that needed grief support.

At Americare Hospice, we are aware of the emotional challenges and stressors having a loved diagnosed with a life-limiting illness can cause. Since grief begins with the diagnosis of a life-limiting illness, Americare Hospice and Palliative Care also provide grief support to families and friends during the experience of a loved one living with a life-limiting illness.

Local Grief Recovery Individual Sessions

Individual sessions are available to any family member or friend of our patients. A grief recovery specialist is available to come to your home or you may choose to schedule your individual sessions in our office. 

Seminars

Seminars that focus on a variety of issues involving grief are provided. These seminars will also discuss the 9-Week Grief Recovery Outreach Program. Family members and friends of

our patients will receive flyers throughout the year informing them of these seminars. 

Grief Recovery Outreach Program

This 9-Week Grief Recovery Outreach Program was developed by the Grief Recovery Institute. This program has been designed to provide from the pain associated with loss. This program is life changing providing long-term relief from the pain caused by loss. Family members and friends of our patients will be informed of each grief program.  

Lending Library

Americare Hospice and Palliative Care has hundreds of resources on grief and loss and related issues. These are available to you and your family.

Americare Hospice and Palliative Care has access to many to national resources. If someone you love is in need of support services and lives outside the Arizona area, please contact us and we can assist them in locating grief support services available in their area.
